The TLC Lab, located in room 204 of the Student Center West Wing, provides a quiet, pleasant study area for both individual and group work. The study area is equipped with tables and chairs for individual study sessions or for groups of four. Larger groups may be accommodated by placing tables together.
The TLC Lab is equipped with sixteen computers (1 computer for sight impaired). PLATO Tutorial is a software package with courseware and tutorials that can be accessed in the TLC Lab or from home. Hundreds of tutorial topics are available from Reading fundamentals to grammar and writing, from basic math fundamentals through Calculus II, plus a complete Biology and Chemistry Series. The following software packages are also accessible: Internet Explorer (access to Desire 2 Learn and LSUA Homepage) and Microsoft (Access, Word, Front Page, Power Point, Publisher, Excel).
The Writing Center provides free peer tutoring for students needing assistance in developmental and first-year English Composition courses. The Writing Center provides support for students from any course at LSU Alexandria, including upper-level and non-English classes, in which writing and reading are required. The Writing Center is staffed with faculty recommended and trained peer tutors. The hours of operation are posted at the entrance of the TLC Lab.
The Math and Science Lab provides free peer tutoring for students needing assistance in Math (Pre-College Algebra, College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Statistics) and Science (General Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, General Chemistry) courses. The Math and Science Lab is staffed with faculty recommended and trained peer tutors. The hours of operation are posted at the entrance of the TLC Lab. Math videos which reflect current course content are available for check out from the Student Services office (room 206) and may be viewed in the Math and Science Lab or at home.

Student Services offers students the opportunity to check out math videos (no charge) that are reflective of the current textbooks being used in the following courses: Pre College Algebra (Math 0003 & 0004), College Algebra (Math 1021), Plane Trigonometry (Math 1022), The Nature of Mathematics (Math 1100), Calculus with Business and Economic Applications (Math 1431), Analytic Geometry and Calculus I (Math 1550), and General Statistics (Math 2011). Videos may be checked out from Student Services (Student Center, room 206) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Students may check out two videos at a time. All videos must be returned within two days.
