Testing Services for Students with Disabilities

Students who are identified as needing accommodations for testing should follow these guidelines:

Register for a test through the testing center at least three (3) days prior to the testing date.

Students who fail to register three days before the testing date may find:

  • space may be unavailable at the time needed to take the test
  • the Testing Coordinator may have cleared her calendar and be out for the day
  • unless students let us know they are coming, we cannot guarantee the test can be administered at the time and place that your instructor and you are expecting
  • instructors may not be sympathetic if you failed to make an appointment and cannot test at the appropriate time

At the beginning of the semester, it may be important to remind your professors to bring your exam to the Testing Center. The last class prior to your testing date may be a good time for this reminder.

The Testing Center is located within the Student Success Center, within the TLC Lab in Room W204. To register for a test, you may come by the Testing Center or call (318)427-4492.

The following table is used to assist the student and instructor with testing procedures.

Testing Reminders For Students and Instructors

  • Students with disabilities who do not have the accommodation of testing in the Testing Center DO NOT need to register with the Testing Center or fill out a gold form.
  • All tests administered in the Testing Center are monitored directly and on camera.
  • Tests are returned to the instructor as soon as possible. Special handling of a test should be arranged through the Testing Center coordinator.
  • The Request for Testing Accommodations, gold form, must accompany each student’s test.
  • Extended time will be calculated according to the time that the test is scheduled to begin. If a student shows up ten minutes late to take a test, he/she will not receive an additional ten minutes to finish the test.
  • If a student registers to test in the Testing Center and, decides to cancel, the student must notify the Testing Center.
  • Instructors should always include the gold form with a student’s test.
  • Please note that all test must be completed by 4:30 p.m., unless prior arrangements have been made.
  • To register for a test or discuss testing accommodations, call Ms. Katie Cooley at 427-4492.
